I was commissioned to create original artwork for four conference room walls in the San Francisco Upwork office, each named after a city in which the company has a significant freelancer population. For each room, I illustrated a famous landmark of the city and told the story of a real freelancer living there. Using quotes from the freelancer, I hand-lettered phrases and words that were arranged in eclectic white frames to create a visual depiction of his or her experience with Upwork.
Upwork Icon Library
As a visual designer for the online freelancing platform Upwork, I helped the Bay Area company through a brand re-launch from their previous identity Elance-oDesk. I worked with the product team to create new components and page layouts for the site, which is used by over 10 million freelancers all over the world. My largest contribution to the new platform was a library of more than 100 hand-illustrated icons, used across the web and mobile sites, as well as the custom chat platform called Dash. Alpine Headphones Packaging
For Alpine's first departure from their signature car stereo products, they needed a visually stunning and innovative packaging solution to make a splash in the luxury headphone market. The new line of headphones use innovative technology to allow the user to experience a live concert sensation through an app which controls music energy levels. As lead designer for multiple versions of the packaging, I worked with Alpine, materials vendors, and industrial designers to create a graphic that visually conveys the concept "Feel Your Music."

Threads of Peru
As Graphic Design Volunteer for a fair trade NGO based in Cusco, Peru, I collaborated with Quechua artisans in the rural Andean villages of the Sacred Valley and helped them market and sell their woven textiles to an international consumer base.
I created a custom design catalog for international wholesale customers that documents rural textile artisans' products and patterns, and allows the customer to pair them with color palettes which I put together based on current fashion trends and the inspiration of the natural beauty of the Sacred Valley. All photography in the catalog is mine as well.
The TAP Initiative, Take Away Plastic, is a campaign that aims to eliminate bottled water usage on a college campus. The campaign includes a website, a book of statistics about the environmental impact of plastic bottles, a motion infographic video, and also a campus installation. I implemented Take Away Plastic day on March 4th, 2013 at Notre Dame, where my installation of 1000 empty plastic bottles on the main campus quad demonstrated the massive amount of waste generated by Americans in two thirds of a second.
TAP: The Making Of
Nepal Fair Trade Design
During the summer of 2011 I spent ten weeks in Kathmandu, Nepal participating in a product design internship with the Association for Craft Producers, a fair trade non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of local artisans. I collaborated with the ACP design team to develop new products that preserved traditional Nepali craft while appealing to a wider global market in order to increase the international success of the fair trade movement. In 2013, the Society of Literature, Science and the Arts hosted its annual conference at the University of Notre Dame. I created a visual identity to reflect the theme “PostNatural,” using a mark that alludes to the ripple effect set in motion by the manmade destruction of the environment. The identity was used across printed conference materials, an event website, and mail-outs.

While I am in a new place, I take photos to remember the details long after I leave. Here are some examples of photos I've taken during my travels.
